The Securepoint Unified Threat Management (UTM) security solutions provide all important security applications (firewall, VPN gateway, virus scanner, spam filter, Web filter, IDS, etc.) within a corresponding server environment, to ensure smooth updates of all systems and to make the everyday usage of these systems successful and secure for companies. They are available as UTM hardware appliances, as virtual appliances, and as a pure software solution which can be installed on standard computer systems and may be adjusted according to individual requirements. Securepoint is Windows 7-ready and supports IKEv1 and IKEv2.
KVpnc is a KDE frontend for various VPN clients. It supports Cisco VPN (vpnc, vpnclient (a proprietary client from Cisco)), IPSec (FreeS/WAN, Openswan, strongSwan, racoon), PPTP (pptpclient), OpenVPN, L2TP over IPSec (l2tpd, xl2ltpd, openl2tp) (usable with FreeS/WAN, Openswan, strongSwan, and racoon), Vtun, and OpenSSH. Smartcards will be supported within OpenVPN and strongSwan. vpnc is a replacement for the Cisco VPN client, and is used as a client for the Cisco3000 VPN Concentrator. FreeS/WAN, Openswan, and strongSwan are IPSec clients for Linux 2.4.x/2.6.x, and racoon is an IPSec client for Linux 2.6.x and *BSD. l2tpd, xl2tpd, and openl2tp are Linux L2TP VPN clients/servers.
BarracudaDrive makes it simple to run your own private cloud server. It lets you take complete control of your files, and eliminates the dangers of entrusting the privacy of your sensitive data to third-party Web portals. With BarracudaDrive, your home or business computer network becomes a secure online storage system. You can access and share files using any Internet-enabled computer, smartphone, or tablet.
eurephia is an authentication plug-in for OpenVPN. It enhances the OpenVPN authentication process by using user name and password authentication in addition to SSL certificates. If too many failed attempts are registered, the user account and/or IP address will be blocked. For Linux servers, iptables support is also included, which can be used to restrict each user's network access through the VPN channel. OpenVPN 2.2 or later is required.
CloudVPN is a secure decentralized mesh networking tool. It allows applications to use it as a mesh transport layer for packet routing, easily creating mesh ethernet VPN, secured audio/video broadcasting or communication channels, etc. It can create secured networks with special or weird topologies, so it's very easy to create connection schemes with clustered/decentralized servers, topologies with better throughput, ring-like topologies for failover, long-line for passing through many routes, or tree topology for optimizing inter-server bandwidth needs.
"Stupid Simple VPN" is a virtual private networking program contained as source in a 7.0KB tarball. It does not daemonize, and is intended to create a temporary VPN for emergency circumstances when you "just need a pipe" without the hassle of authentication, keys, encryption, and compression. It runs on OS X using the tuntaposx driver and Linux 2.6 using the native tuntap driver.
VPPPN stands for virtual peer-to-peer private networking. The project provides a VPN client using a custom protocol to be able to set up a point-to-point dynamic virtual network. This differs from OpenVPN in that it does not need a central server to pass the network's traffic. A central server exists to allocate IP addresses and provide a point of contact for the clients, but once connections are established, these services are no longer needed. This means that a VPPN network is free (as in beer), since to set up a network you do not need to invest in an always-on Internet server. Once established, a VPPPN network behaves in a similar way to a normal IP network. To the end user, this means you can set up an office network and drag and drop files between computers in a secure manner over the Internet.
