BRL-CAD is a powerful constructive solid geometry solid modeling system that includes an interactive geometry editor, ray-tracing support for rendering and geometric analysis, path-tracing for realistic image synthesis, network distributed framebuffer support, and image and signal-processing tools.
Coin is an implementation of Open Inventor. Open Inventor is the de facto standard API for retained-mode 3D graphics programming. Open Inventor has a highly extensible design, and has been designed to allow for rapid development of highly interactive 3D graphics applications in the fields of CAD, engineering, scientific computing, simulation, VRML, and visualization.
Java PictDraw is a set of Java classes to display Quickdraw images (Macintosh Pict files). Quickdraw is a meta/vector format that supports lines, circles, arcs, boxes, polygon, styled text, bitmap-based regions, and compressed bitmaps (RLE and JPEG). This package contains all the classes needed to parse a Quickdraw file, and to display into a Java AWT port. Features include the ability to make the text regions of the picture clickable.
NiceSTEP Java Components is a set of Java Beans and standard dialogs that give your Java application the look and feel of N*XTstep, GNUstep, and WindowMaker. It includes useful sample applications: Slide Projector, an image viewer/organizer with integrated slideshow, NiceSTEP Editor, a simple text editor with N*XT style scrollbars, NiceSTEP FTP, a graphical FTP client, and NiceSTEP CD Burner, a front end to mkisofs and cdrecord. Components include a N*XT-style scrollbar, a listbox, checkboxes, radio buttons, a 3D line, a multi-line label with a 3D border, text editing components, a directory navigator, pulldown buttons, popup lists, and more.
OIO is a Web-based metadata/data management front-end which is built using Zope and works with Postgresql. No programming is required to build and manage Web-forms or to perform data mining/analysis on the collected data. It is in production at the Harbor/UCLA Medical Center for clinical outcomes management and research data. Forms created with OIO and hosted on any OIO server can be downloaded as XML files. Once downloaded from the "Forms library" and imported into an OIO server, the necessary database tables are automatically recreated and the imported forms become immediately available to the users of that OIO server.
OpenEV is a library and reference application for viewing and analysing raster and vector geospatial data. OpenEV capabilities include the following: handling of raster and vector data, support for 2D and 3D display, graceful handling of very large (gigabyte) raster datasets, support for multi-channel raster datasets, understanding and interpreting of georeferencing information, pan/zoom/rotate at interactive frame rates (using OpenGL), and a powerful image analysis tool (using Numerical Python).
OpenVRML is a VRML and X3D browser plug-in and C++ toolkit for incorporating VRML/X3D support into applications. It provides VRML97 and Classic VRML X3D parsers, a runtime, and an OpenGL renderer as C++ libraries. The renderer is fully separate from the runtime library so that users can also provide their own renderer. The OpenVRML browser is provided as a D-Bus service, and is embeddable in host applications using XEmbed. The distribution provides both a stand-alone host and a host that runs as a Mozilla plug-in.
PLIB is a set of libraries to write games and other realtime interactive applications that are 100% portable across a wide range of hardware and operating systems. It's used by Majik3D, FlightGear, and others, and includes libraries for GUI widgets, sound replay, geometry, scene graph, joystick, and fonts/text.
