The iTool Media Package provides DVD ripping and video conversion tools. The DVD ripper rips DVDs to video and audio files of smaller sizes in many formats, including AVI, WMV, MOV, MP4, MP3, and AAC. The video converter provides conversions between many video and audio formats, including AVI, MPEG, WMV, DivX, MP4, H.264/AVC, MOV, MP2, MP3, WMA, OGG, AAC, M4A, WAV, and AC3.
eduMagnet can search and access different online video sites (YouTube, Blip, TeacherTube, RSS, German public TV, etc). Students and pupils can create playlists of lectures and talks and play educational content using an embedded video player (MPlayer). As an OLPC project eduMagnet is developed for the sugar OS, but can also be used in any Linux environment using GTK. Students may synchronize playlists to the online platform eduMagnet.org so that other users can subscribe to their playlists. Access to new online video sites can easily be added using python plugins ("Magnets").
Mumudvb is a program that redistributes streams from DVB on a network using multicast or HTTP unicast. Its main feature is to multicast a whole DVB transponder by assigning each channel a different multicast Group. It can operate Conditional Access Modules (CAM), and therefore works with encrypted streams. It has very low CPU and memory usage.

Minitube is a YouTube application for Mac, Linux, and Windows. With it, you can watch YouTube videos in a new way: you type a keyword, and Minitube gives you an endless video stream. Minitube does not require the Flash Player. It is not about cloning the original YouTube Web interface, but strives to create a new TV-like experience.
