Dxr2 Resource Center is a community focus point for the Creative Dxr2 DVD decoder card. Creative Dxr2 drivers for Linux, and other platforms are actively being developed, as well as a multitude of other programs, drivers, documentation, etc. The Website is the home of the Creative Dxr2 drivers (dxr2-driver). Included is a script for compiling the Dxr2 drivers, as well as various components (dxr2install), a Dxr2 plugin for the XINE media player (xine-plugin), and other projects related to the Dxr2 decoder card.
WebVCR+ is a Web frontend to record your TV shows from, which has a TV Guide-like interface. You can record your shows to many different formats, and convert them during the idle time your computer isn't recording. You can also add favorites and manage your video library through the Web interface. Listings can be specified in XMLTV format, or grabbed from advalvas/eurotv. You can also easily add different commandline video recorders.
Videoconv is a shell-based frontend to mjpeg-tools, transcode, vcdimager, and cdrdao. This script converts AVI videos to VCD, SVCD, or DivX, and optionally burn them to CD. There are many optional parameters which can be used to adjust the video quality. The script was designed to allow even unexperienced users to convert video into the format they want by using free tools. It supports decoding only AVIs with MJPEG/PCM.
TVEz is a browser-based system to manage movies, shows, and clips stored on local or remote file systems. It is also a front end to the XINE video player that makes the control of the player possible from the Web browser. It retrieves information about movies, including an image of the cover, from IMDB, and stores that information in a MySQL database. The database entries are fully searchable by director, writers, actors, titles, etc. It includes a rating system for movies by which movies can be sorted such that your most favorite ones appear on top of the list. The Web-based configuration is generic enough so that any kind of show can easily be added to the shows listing. The playlist is fully manageable.
image2mpeg is a tool to convert digital photos (or any other images) into MPEG video streams, with transitions between the images. The photo stream may be accompanied with music (or any other audio stream). The resulting slideshow may be prepared for VCD, SVCD, or DVD playback in stand-alone players, or the MPEG videos may be converted into FLV (Flash Videos). The type of transition can be selected for each image separately from a set of fade, slide, roll, etc.
watch_dvb is a simple script that allows DVB users to easily watch a TV channel using the low-end application dvbstream. It uses the channel lists provided with 'szap' and handles the channel tuning. As a gimmick there is an interactive mode that is used when the specified pattern matches more than one channel. Additionally you can stream the DVB data to another workstation on the network.
m2vmp2cut is frame accurate (currently PAL) MPEG2 video (M2V file) with accompanied MP2 audio cutter. Frame accuracy is achieved by re-encoding video around cutpoints. Audio is cut from a separate MP2 file at positions that keep A/V sync as good as possible (maximum sync difference is around 10-15 milliseconds compared to the source).
tovid is a suite of command line utilities (and a graphical frontend) for creating video discs in DVD, VCD, SVCD, and KVCD/KDVD formats (PAL or NTSC). tovid supports a wide variety of input video formats, and can encode to several different output resolutions. Discs may be authored with hierarchical menus for navigation and playback.
