AstroAviBrowser is a small tool for astronomy imaging capture/processing. It allows you to open a video file, select the good frames, and save the new sequence in a new avi file using raw or lossless codecs. You may also de-bayer your frames and separate RGB plans. It's a kind of "AviRaw" for Linux.
gdvdslides allows you to create a slideshow video from a set of JPEG image files and audio files. It creates a script of actions which are used to produce the slideshow video. Actions include titles, multi-track music, transitions between slides, special effects in slides, support for slideshow themes, and inclusion of video clips in the slideshow.
The Lumiera project strives to create a video/film editing solution usable for professional grade productions, e.g. a documentary or feature film. The main focus is on supporting large scale and complicated project setups and to add the actual media processing in an open plugin-based manner Lumiera was born out of the Cinlelerra community. It started as a partial rework of the Cinelerra codebase, but then quickly turned into a complete re-engineering. It has been underway for almost 3 years, and has a substantial body of working code, but is not yet ready for end users.
