Darcs is an advanced revision control system. It has two particularly distinctive features which differ from other revision control systems: each copy of the source is a fully functional branch, and underlying it is a consistent and powerful theory of patches. In spite of its power, darcs is simple to use, in part because of the symmetry that is restored by making each copy of the repository a branch.
DisTract is a distributed bug tracker. DisTract allows you to manage bugs in a distributed and potentially offline manner through your Web browser on your local machine. The distribution is achieved by making use of a distributed software control system, Monotone. Thus Monotone is used to move files across the network, perform merging operations, and track the development of every bug.
This program is especially useful when the main difference between the two LaTeX files is in permutation of sections, moved equations, etc. Given 2 LaTeX files, it prepares 2 annotated LaTeX files showing which equations of the 1st file are identical, or close, or similar, to which equations of the 2nd file. It does the same with the pieces of text. It also saves the snippets of text and equations from each text into separate files in 2 new folders, allowing the user to see the difference using a diff program.
