Fandango is a GL-rendered, Python-scripted CAD program. The low-level functionality is programmed in C++, and then the relevant functions are exposed to Python and used as building blocks for more functions. Currently the memory core allows lines, triangles, line strips, and triangle strips. Texture, blending, and lighting can be switched on and off from a command line.
pstoedit converts Postscript(TM) and PDF files to other vector graphic formats so that they can be edited graphically. The formats it can generate include tgif, fig, PDF, gnuplot, DXF, Java Applets, HPGL, WMF, EMF, LaTeX2e, SWF, and many others. pstoedit's framework can be used independantly by other programs.
Moho is a 2D vector-based cartoon animation application. It is not an ink and paint tool that requires you to draw and scan each frame of your animation; it provides a set of tools to create an animated cartoon, from drawing and coloring to keyframe animation and multi-layer compositing. It can be used to create animations for video, film, or streaming over the Web.
The Magelan Graphics Editor is a simple 2D vector graphics editor with basic support for AutoCAD DXF files (both reading and writing). It features complete and easy control over each entity's properties and support for mouse gestures. The package also includes a compact Drawing/Editor API which can be used wherever 2D graphics modelling/editing is required.
E.T. EDITOR is a graphical editor for designing three-dimensional graphs consisting of colored edges and triangles. The intention is to make the modeling process as direct as possible. E.T. TRAVELER lets you view the scenes designed with the E.T. EDITOR. It simulates traveling inside the scene.
Sketsa SVG Editor is a vector drawing application based on SVG. It allows users to create vector graphics that can be scaled and printed at any resolution, without losing detail or clarity. It features various tools for optimizing content creation, and includes a property palette, a DOM editor, a source editor, a resource editor, SVG-specific shape tools, transformation tools, and additional illustration tools. It uses SVG as its native file format.
Inkscape is a drawing tool with capabilities similar to Illustrator, Freehand, and CorelDraw that uses the W3C standard scalable vector graphics format (SVG). The supported SVG features include basic shapes, paths, text, markers, clones, alpha blending, transforms, gradients, and grouping. In addition, it supports Creative Commons meta-data, node-editing, layers, complex path operations, text-on-path, and SVG XML editing. It also imports several formats like EPS, Postscript, JPEG, PNG, BMP, and TIFF and exports PNG as well as multiple vector-based formats.
Jarnal is a java based notetaking/sketching application similar to Microsoft One-Note. For tablet PCs it provides the ability to take handwritten notes; for desktop PCs it allows users to take notes using the mouse (or more sensibly) using the keyboard. Each page is stored in SVG format, and the SVG pages are stored in a standard Zip file.
