PicoGUI aims to be a complete GUI environment for handheld computers and other embedded systems. It uses a client/server model, like the X window system, but while an X server is given raw drawing commands, the PicoGUI server integrates a widget set, making PicoGUI clients small and efficient. PicoGUI also has the goal of allowing client/server connections over a variety of mechanisms. It is most commonly used with Linux, but is designed to be portable to any OS. PicoGUI has a variety of video and input drivers which allow it to interface with the Linux framebuffer device, SDL, the X window system, and several other devices.
Eric is a full featured Python and Ruby editor and IDE, written in Python. It is based on the cross platform Qt GUI toolkit, integrating the highly flexible Scintilla editor control. It is designed to be usable as an everyday quick and dirty editor as well as being usable as a professional project management tool, integrating many advanced features that Python offers the professional coder. Eric includes a plug-in system, which allows easy extension of the IDE functionality with plug-ins downloadable from the net. Current stable versions are Eric4 based on Qt4 and Python 2 and Eric5 based on Python 3 and Qt4.
PyObjC is a bridge between Python and Objective-C that allows full featured Cocoa applications to be written in pure Python. It can also be used with other Objective-C class libraries, as well as C and C++ source. The installer package includes a number of Project Builder templates and Python syntax coloring files. It supports full introspection of Objective-C classes and direct invocation of Objective-C APIs from the interactive interpreter.
Archetypes is a framework for developing new content types in Plone. The power of Archetypes is first in automatically generating forms, second in providing a library of stock field types, form widgets, and field validators, third in easily integrating custom fields, widgets, and validators, and fourth in automating transformations of rich content.
Flightdeck-UI is a project that utilizes the ideas in the design of aircraft controls and instruments for creating general purpose user interfaces. The project includes Flightdeck-UI Online (a Web-based monitoring system that works entirely through the browser), the Multi-Variable Monitor (MVM) application, and a Tkinter widget library. Flightdeck-UI Online is installed on a Web server. The MVM application provides a graphical editor with theme support for quickly creating Flightdeck-UI control panels. It is possible but not necessary to write code in order to use MVM.
optcomplete is a Python module that provides programmable shell completion support for Python scripts that use the optparse module. It implements the Bash completion protocol, and a simple common shell function invokes the script to provide the completion suggestions. As an optparse parser already contains most of the useful information to provide completions, only two lines of code are required to provide basic support for completions to an existing script. It also allows the developer to provide per-option completion, etc.
