GNU usbsync is console-based utility that assists you in keeping files and entire directory trees synchronized between a portable storage volume (such as a USB flash or thumb drive) and arbitrarily many hosts. For this purpose, a special text file, usually named .usbsync, is placed in a storage volume's top-level directory to contain user-written synchronization entries.

Libpuppy is a library version of the puppy tool, which is used for accessing Topfield DVB tuners (and possibly others) via their USB port. Its main features are listing and retrieving contents of the HD in the device. It allows you to write your own utilities that interface with the device. It comes with two tools, puppy-dir and puppy-get, in addition to the original (mostly unmodified) puppy-tool.

usb4java is a Java library for accessing USB devices. The low-level part is based on the native libusb 0.1 shared library and reflects this API as completely as possible. Java NIO buffers are used for data exchange between libusb and Java. The high-level part implements the javax.usb standard (JSR-80). Supported platforms are Linux (x86 32/64 bit), Mac OS X (x86 32/64 bit, PowerPC 32 bit) and Windows (x86 32/64 bit), but other platforms supported by Java 6 and libusb may work by compiling the JNI library manually.

MaheshaBSD Server is a fully functional demo that never expires comes as a bootable USB image. Its purpose is to show Windows users the flexibility of running FreeBSD off a USB flash drive that works immediately as a server. The FTP server supports quotas; MaheshaBSD Server is the only pre-configured WordPress server that immediately runs everywhere. It is configurable via Webmin (remote web interface). The USB memory stick is writable; phpMyAdmin is also installed. The server can be redirected to any disk; NTFS partitions are also supported. By setting up IP forwarding on ports 21 (FTP), 22 (SSH), and 80 (HTTP), you will have the instant aibility to operate a public Internet FTP/WWW and WordPress server. Linux emulation is activated, allowing the use of many Linux tools. You can add unlimited number of accounts; however, in order to keep SFTP accounts chrooted, this needs some additional setup.
