The ATA over Ethernet Tools are intended for use in conjunction with an ATA over Ethernet (AoE) driver for a Linux 2.6 kernel, called "aoe". The tools perform simple tasks like listing available devices, triggering device discovery, and restricting the network interfaces on which AoE is performed.
Backup-DVD is a simple script to backup the entire system on a rewritable DVD. It is designed to be manily used as a cron job. It logs operations in /var/log/backup.log and sends feedback by email, and it is fully configurable by editing /etc/backup-dvd/backup-dvd.conf. This script cannot be run as sudo; it must be run directly as root.
Bontmia is a network-based backup tool that saves configurable numbers of last month, week, day, hour, and minute backups. Each backup is a complete snapshot of the original directories, and only new and changed files take up space when generating snapshots because of the use of hard links. Remote access is secure by using SSH. Only changes are transferred, which makes for a fast backup.
Bbb is a set of utilities for burning to CD-R and CD-RW media. It allows one to easily perform tasks such as burning the contents of a directory, burning an audio CD, burning a CD image, and copying CD media from the command line. Bbb is implemented as several simple tools, which may be used easily in standard UNIX pipelines.
Clonezilla is a partition or disk cloning tool similar to Symantec Ghost. It saves and restores only blocks in use on the hard drive if the file system is supported. For unsupported file systems, dd is used instead. It has been used to clone a 5 GB system to 40 clients in about 10 minutes.
