The goal of the CSPoker project is to develop Poker software and experiment with Artificial Intelligence for Poker. A Texas Hold'Em server written in Java and client software in JavaFX have already been developed. In the long run, it should be possible to train A.I. bots by playing against human players.
Connect-k is a framework for experimenting with and testing general AIs for games within the connect-k family. This includes Tic-Tac-Toe, Go-moku (without removal rules), and Connect-6. The program features an attractive GTK+ interface, a convenient API, and several challenging AIs.
Four in a line is a Connect four game that can be played against other humans or against a computer opponent. The multiplayer mode is meant to be played over a local network or over the Internet. You can add your own AI players. This software requires the Sun JVM 1.6 or newer. Other JVM implementations are not guaranteed to work.
Free Conquest and Colonization of America is a remake of a fantastic old game from Microprose called Colonization. Those who have played Civilization will find the game style very similar. In Civilization, the game time goes from pre-history to the future, but in Free Conquest and Colonization of America, all action happens during the exploration age, from 1492 to 1800. The goal of the game is to build a colony in America and make this colony grow big enough to be able to achieve independence from the motherland. A player can choose among the English, French, Dutch, and Spanish nations, each having its own qualities and problems. During colonization, the player will face many challenges, such as negotiating (and making war, if necessary) with other European colonies and native tribes. Winning the hearts of the colonists (by making they feel that the colony is their home) is the key to getting enough support to fight for independence. Allowing religious freedom in your colony will attract more colonists persecuted for their faith in Europe.
KAtoms is a clone of an old Amiga turn-based multiplayer strategy game for the KDE desktop, with improvements such as irregular board shapes, AI players, and a scalable user interface. Players take turns to place their atoms on the board, causing explosions and chain reactions which convert enemy atoms to their own color. The object of the game is to overwhelm the board. The simple rules of the game give rise to complex and unpredictable reactions which provide interesting gameplay.
UFO: Alien Invasion is a squad-based tactical strategy game in the tradition of the old X-COM PC games, but with a twist. This game combines military realism with hard science-fiction and the weirdness of an alien invasion. The carefully constructed turn-based system gives you pin-point control of your squad while maintaining a sense of pace and danger. The story is set in the year 2084. You control a secret organization charged with defending Earth from a brutal alien enemy.
