Vis/Space is a client-server system for visually exploring data structures in 3D virtual space. It allows the placement of various data sources in a three-dimensional environment. Custom search terms can be entered into a query field, or can be navigated to and from an existing object. All objects like images and "text screens" can be moved around. A single click on an image shows the full-resolution version in the foreground. Whole collections of images can be moved. A click to the cube also toggles among several different possible layouts. Data sources include search engines, microblogging, Wikipedia, image/video search, and 4chan.
Link Launcher is a GUI tool that helps you choose the Web browser in which to open a link. It is called whenever you follow a link from an application other than a Web browser, and it presents you with a choice of the available Web browsers, so that you can use the browser that is appropriate for that particular link.
Logsmith is an extendable framework for processing and editing small text files. It can be seen as a combined (but stripped down) version of UN*X tools like awk, sed, and grep with a graphical user interface. The intent is to give users the powers such tools provide without having to train them in their use. In order to archive this goal, logsmith can easily be customized through a plugin architecture to perform the commons tasks that a specific user base might require.
The GNOME NetworkManager is a set of co-operative tools that make networking simple and straightforward. Whether wireless or wired, NetworkManager allows you to quickly move from one network to another: once a network has been configured and joined once, it can be detected and re-joined automatically at a later date. It was designed to auto-detect as much information as possible, seamlessly switches connections when necessary, and provides immediate feedback of the network state to users and applications.
Alerttail monitors a given file and executes a list of actions when a user-defined text pattern has been written to the file. For example, the user can pop up a GTK notification window when a certain message is written to a log file. Actions can be alerttail built in actions (GTK notify action, geoipLocalization action, or filtering text action) or a custom user defined shell command action. A Qt 4 GUI frontend helps with configuration.
