String JSP Taglib provides Java with the improved power to use the String manipulation functions in PHP, as java.lang.String is woefully unprepared to compete with the power of the PHP String functions. Culling useful ideas from PHP, Ruby, C#, and LPC, the taglib fills what currently seems to be an unfilled niche. Beneath the taglib is a class that may be used from Java, providing extra String methods that don't map well to JSP.
The neteye actioncache is an extension to the Jakarta struts framework. It is intended for projects that use struts to display data provided by content management systems. Actions (and views) that display the content are only invoked when the underlying data has changed. Time-expensive operations like data retrieval, JSP processing, or XSLT transformations are only performed when needed.
OSAccess is an entitlement security engine for prodividing fine grained security access. At the moment, the security spec for J2EE is silent on entitlement level security, so this project is an attempt to make a truly portable and reusable entitlement engine that can work with multiple backend security data repositories and be hosted on different application servers.
The NeatSeeker project provides a simple, all-Java indexing and searching framework with an out-of the box HTML indexer and a fast search application servlet for small to medium websites. NeatSeeker does not require a database backend, as it uses serialized Java objects for storing the indices.
mod_epp is an Apache 2.0 module that implements the EPP over TCP protocol as defined in draft-ietf-provreg-epp-tcp-06.txt and the session management parts of draft-ietf-provreg-epp-0(6|7|8).txt. This is not a full implementation of EPP; this module just makes it possible to write an EPP server as a set of CGI scripts.
