Struts is a Jakarta project that provides a J2EE framework for building Web applications. It is based on a Model 2 approach, a variant of MVC. Struts provides its own Controller component and integrates with other technologies to provide the Model and the View. For the Model, Struts can interact with any standard data access technology, including Enterprise Java Beans, JDBC, and Object Relational Bridge. For the View, Struts works well with JavaServer Pages, Velocity Templates, XSLT, and other presentation systems.
The Bright Side Framework provides ready-to-use, high-level J2EE components which will help you quickly build business J2EE applications accessed by rich Java/Swing clients on HTTP. The components are loosely coupled, which allows you to pick only the one you need. The Remoting transparently encapsulates EJB calls inside HTTP. The List Of Values provides nice features for the reference data of all business applications. The Smart Value Object tracks the client modifications and manages the optimistic concurrency during client/server communication. The Remote Iterator allows a rich client to fetch the results of a SQL statement, block by block.
log4net is a tool to help the programmer output log statements to a variety of output targets. log4net is a port of the excellent log4j framework to the .NET runtime. log4net runs on the following frameworks: Microsoft .Net Framework 1.0, Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1, Microsoft .Net Compact Framework 1.0, Mono 0.23, Microsoft Shared Source CLI 1.0.
Barcode4J is a barcode generation package. The following symbologies are currently implemented: Interleaved 2 of 5, Code 39, Codabar, Code 128, UPC-A and UPC-E (with supplementals), EAN-13 and EAN-8 (with supplementals), EAN-128, POSTNET, Royal Mail Customer Barcode, PDF417, and DataMatrix. Supported output formats are SVG, EPS (Encapsulated PostScript), Bitmap images (such as PNG or JPEG), and Java2D (AWT). Additional features include two APIs (XML-oriented and Bean-style), a Servlet with support for SVG, EPS, and bitmap output, a command-line interface, a demonstration applet, and extensions for Apache Xalan-J, SAXON, and Apache FOP.
This small tool connects to the P6Spy JDBC logger and displays in real time the queries going to the database. It uses an integrated SQL parser to build statistics on the most accessed tables and columns to enable database index creation. Other information is also gathered and displayed, such as the request time for a single request, for a class of request, and for all the requests. Sorting may be done on these views to detect database problems efficiently.
UICollection is a rich set of Java Swing widgets, solutions for common and not so common Swing projects, and a workflow using a graphics designer to merge all solutions into one project. The project contains font/color/file choosers, layout managers, a translation framework and action framework, plus many useful classes for general Swing programming, like a MainWindow. The unique one stop solution for all your Java client user interface needs with advanced widgets, proven design techiques, and excellent API documents.
