Logsmith is an extendable framework for processing and editing small text files. It can be seen as a combined (but stripped down) version of UN*X tools like awk, sed, and grep with a graphical user interface. The intent is to give users the powers such tools provide without having to train them in their use. In order to archive this goal, logsmith can easily be customized through a plugin architecture to perform the commons tasks that a specific user base might require.
EPIC is a Perl IDE based on the Eclipse platform. Features supported are syntax highlighting, on-the-fly syntax checking, content assistance, Perldoc support, a source formatter, templating support, and a Perl debugger. A regular expression plugin and support for the eSpell spellchecker are also available.
