References for TeX and Friends is an ongoing project which provides a help file for LaTeX (and its friends like ConTeXt, Metapost, Metafont, etc.) using a state-of-the-art source format, DocBook/XML. Various output formats can be generated from the source file. Anyone can write a converter for any desired output format. Because the source file is XML, the easiest way to do this might be to use XSLT.
Papyrus is a XML-based reporting langauge for PostgreSQL and MySQL. It allows you to generate well-formatted reports in LaTeX, PDF, PostScript, HTML, ANSI, and XML. The XML is expressed in a formatting-oriented style to allow you to develop a wide range of reports. SQL is then embedded into the report to give you the desired data. Papyrus is commandline-driven, and data arguments can be passed into the report. Equations and expressions can also be carried out on data.
gnome-courier is a collection of programs for courier services. It includes programs for managing clients, managing coworkers, managing jobs (receiving, distributing, and editing), printing bills and overdue notices, and managing the payroll. Various statistical modules are available, and since the project is based on a modular concept, it can easily be extended.
Rubber is a building system for LaTeX documents. It is based on a routine that runs just as many compilations as necessary. The module system provides a great flexibility that virtually allows support for any package with no user intervention, as well as pre- and post-processing of the document. The standard modules currently provide support for bibtex, dvips, dvipdfm, pdftex, and makeindex. A good number of standard packages are supported, including graphics/graphicx (with automatic conversion between various formats and Metapost compilation).
CL-BibTeX is a replacement for the BibTeX program, written in Common Lisp. The aim is to enable the user to format bibliographic entries using Common Lisp programs, rather than using the stack language of BibTeX style files. A compiler that transforms BibTeX style files into comprehensible Common Lisp programs is included.
