Fresh Memory is an application that helps you to learn large amounts of any material with Spaced Repetition method. The most important subject is learning foreign words, but Fresh Memory can also e used to learn anything else. Other examples are country's capitals and flags, chemical elements, mathematical formulas, and technical terms. The learning data is stored as flash cards and dictionaries: sets of cards. The flash cards may have several fields, and the user controls what combination of fields to learn. The flash cards can have formatted text and images. The look of flash cards and studying parameters are can be flexibly adjusted.
Valgrind is a tool that helps you find memory management problems in programs. When a program is run under Valgrind's supervision, all reads and writes of memory are checked, and calls to malloc/new/free/delete are intercepted. As a result, Valgrind can detect problems such as use of uninitialized memory, reading/writing of memory after it has been freed, reading/writing off the end of malloced blocks, reading/writing inappropriate areas on the stack, memory leaks in which pointers to malloced blocks are lost forever, passing of uninitialized and/or unaddressable memory to system calls, and mismatched use of malloc/new/new vs. free/delete/delete .
Cloonix is a Linux router and host simulation platform. It fully encapsulates application, host, and network l2 and l3 into a relatively easy-to-use simulation GUI. Network delay and loss characteristics can be configured per link. It provides support for running kvm or UML virtual machines configured into an arbitrary complex network configuration. It is possible to run a 12 router UML simulation on a small x86 host (a P4 with 512 MB RAM). 32- and 64-bit KVM machines are provided.
TAU (Tuning and Analysis Utilities) is a set of tools for analyzing the performance of C, C++, Fortran and Java programs. It collects much more information than is available through prof or gprof, the standard Unix utilities, including per-process, per-thread, and per-host information, inclusive and exclusive function times, profiling groups that allow you to organize data collection, access to hardware counters on some systems, per-class and per-instance information, the ability to separate data for each template instantiation, start/stop timers for profiling arbitrary sections of code, and support for collection of statistics on user-defined events.
Scalasca is a toolset that can be used to analyze the performance behavior of parallel applications and to identify opportunities for optimization. It supports an incremental performance-analysis procedure that integrates runtime summaries with in-depth studies of concurrent behavior via event tracing, adopting a strategy of successively refined measurement configurations.
sqlmap is a penetration testing tool that automates the process of detecting and exploiting SQL injection flaws and taking over of database servers. It comes with a detection engine, many niche features, and a broad range of switches including database fingerprinting, data fetching from the database, and accessing the underlying file system and executing commands on the operating system via out-of-band connections.
