Groovy is an agile, dynamic language for the JVM which combines many features from languages like Python, Ruby, and Smalltalk and makes them available to Java developers using a Java-like syntax. It is designed to help get things done on the Java platform in a quicker, more concise, and fun way. It can be used as an alternative compiler to javac to generate standard Java bytecode to be used by any Java project or it can be used dynamically as an alternative language, such as for scripting Java objects, templating, or writing unit test cases.

hatatap is an HTTP scripting tool with scripts in XML. The scripts are transformed into Java/o:XML before they are either executed from the commandline, integrated into Ant build files, or run interactively from a Web application. hatatap supports cookies, Javascript, HTML DOM, Web Services/SOAP, performance tests with concurrency, test reports, regular expression matching, and stateful Web site navigation. Schroedinger is the combination of Apache Tomcat with a nice, clean Swing GUI. It provides an easy way to create and test JSP and Servlet Web applications. It records every JSP/HTTP activity so that every possible bug can be corrected immediately. Schroedinger can be used in personal mode, which prevents others from using its JSP Server while you develop the application. Alternatively, Schroedinger's working directory can be opened via file-sharing, so that a JSP can be copied to any computer of the JSP development team.

SWEC is a program that automates testing of dynamic Web sites. It parses each HTML file it finds for links, and if those links are within the site specified, it will check that page as well. In addition to parsing and locating links, it will also parse the pages looking for known errors and report those. It will report if a page cannot be read (by either returning a 404, 500, or similar).
