TUIpeer works with the TUIAWT Java package, and together they provide a TUI (Text User Interface) look and feel for Java 1.0 and 1.1 applications. In addition, it supports multiple instances of java.awt.Toolkit, a prerequisite for a multi-user JVM. TUIAWT works by sending peer commands and receiving user interface events to and from the remote peer program. Communication with the remote peer program takes place over a socket connection.
Twin is a text-mode window environment. It turns a text terminal into a X11-style display with window manager, terminal windows, and can also serve as display for remote applications. Each terminal window provides the functions of a text-mode Linux console. Twin runs on X11, libggi, itself, the Linux console, and any termcap/ncurses-compatible tty. It supports multiple simultaneous displays, and can attach/detach each display on the fly.
vt52vnc is a VNC viewer which can be used on prehistoric green monochromatic terminals called vdt52s, which are capable of vector graphics. It is functional and nicely displays X on the terminal, but without the routines for dithering, compression, and password support. Its architecture provides a framework to add those features if needed.
vlock is a program to lock one or more sessions on the Linux console. This is especially useful for Linux machines which have multiple users with access to the console. One user may lock his or her session(s) while still allowing other users to use the system on other virtual consoles. If desired, the entire console may be locked and virtual console switching disabled.
vp-usb-lock is a Linux kernel driver and PAM module that utilizes the PC wireless USB lock and makes it possible to use it as authentication method for your Linux box. It is easy to install, but needs access to the sources of the kernel and PAM to build correctly. It has been tested under Fedora Core 2 with a custom made 2.6.7-1.494.2.2 kernel, but it should also work with other kernel versions and distributions.
