rdesktop Console is a Perl/Tk based utility for Linux to work with multiple rdesktop servers. It works with rdesktop 1.1.0 from www.rdesktop.org to manage multiple sessions for logging into Windows NT and 2K Terminal Servers. It allows creation and management of a simple list of servers and a default resolution for the terminal windows.
Multixterm creates multiple xterms that can be driven together or separately. It can be used to login via SSH to multiple hosts and control them simultaneously, or for ad hoc things where you want to see the results as you type. Each xterm may also be driven separately. Multixterm is scriptable so that you can easily fire up, for example, a dozen xterms with a single command, tiled nicely on your screen. In addition to SSH, multixterm can drive rlogin, telnet, passwd, or any program that runs in an xterm.
xtermcontrol enables dynamic control of XFree86 xterm properties. It makes it easy to change colors, titles, fonts, and the geometry of a running xterm, as well as to report the current settings of the properties. Window manipulations such as (de)iconify, raise and lower, maximize and restore, and reset are also supported. It also lets advanced users issue any xterm control sequence.
PowerTerm InterConnect is a fast and secure terminal emulator, providing comprehensive emulation support via various communication modes. PowerTerm InterConnect offers state-of-the-art features, including SSH and SSL security, customizable function keys, multiple concurrent sessions, scripting, a menu bar, scalable and selectable fonts, intelligent copy and paste, printing, and more.
AIBash is a project which aims to make Bash act more intelligently. It features typing error-correction and the ability to learn that certain file suffixes are associated with certain programs so that other programs are filtered out while pressing TAB. Other features are planned for the future.
Spinner is useful for keeping telnet and ssh links from dropping due to inactivity. Many firewalls and some ISPs drop connections when they are perceived as idle. By having spinner running, the server is constantly sent a tiny amount of data over the link, preserving the connection. Spinner thus acts as a keep-alive. It displays a little "spinning" ASCII character in the top left corner of your terminal. It supports any terminal capable of handling VT100-style escape codes. Spinner can also function transparently by only sending null characters to the terminal. In this mode Spinner supports any terminal. It also has a mode called "Ghost in the Machine" in which you can use Spinner to write the spinner character to any TTY, not just your own.
rxvt-unicode is a clone of the well known terminal emulator rxvt, modified to store text in Unicode and to use locale-correct input and output. It also supports mixing multiple fonts at the same time, including Xft fonts, real transparency, and an optional embedded Perl interpreter that allows you to extend your terminal easily.
