C-Kermit is a combined serial and network communication software package offering a consistent, medium-independent, cross-platform approach to connection establishment, terminal sessions, file transfer, character-set translation, numeric and alphanumeric paging, and automation of communication tasks. Recent versions include FTP and HTTP clients as well as an SSH interface, all of which can be scripted and aware of character-sets. It supports built-in security methods, including Kerberos IV, Kerberos V, SSL/TLS, and SRP, FTP protocol features such as MLSD, and source-code parity with Kermit 95 2.1 for Windows and OS/2.

tn5250 is a 5250 terminal emulator, used for connecting to IBM's AS/400 (now known as eServer iSeries) midrange computers. tn5250 implements TN5250E, which means it is capable of device name selection, and printer sessions. The emulator supports color, 132 column mode, and most other features found in 5250 terminals and Client Access' 5250 emulator. While tn5250 is text-based application, a script is included to run it in an xterm properly. If you don't know what an AS/400 is, this program will probably not be of much use to you.

Features include shortcuts (to save phone typing), input of control and other special characters, command history, and searching and scrolling through long shell output. Wapsh automatically adapts to the main WAP browsers (UP and Nokia), and uses configuration files to further tailor the system for specific phones. zssh (Zmodem SSH) is a program for interactively transferring files to a remote machine while using the secure shell (ssh). It is intended to be a convenient alternative to scp, allowing to transfer files without having to open another session and re-authenticate oneself. zssh is an interactive wrapper for ssh used to switch the ssh connection between the remote shell and file transfers. Files are transferred through the zmodem protocol, using the rz and sz commands.

ssh-multiadd adds multiple ssh keys to the ssh authentication agent. These may use the same passphrase. When run without arguments, it adds $HOME/.ssh/identity and $HOME/.ssh/id_dsa. Alternative file names can be given on the command line or in the configuration file. It uses ssh-askpass if necessary. Unlike ssh-add, if any of the keys use the same passphrase, you will only need to enter each unique passphrase once, and keys that are already added will not be prompted for again.

Playlist Warlock is a text-based frontend for mpg123 written in Perl. It is intended to provide users with the playlist browsing and song selection of a GUI MP3 player from any terminal. It provides a combination of Winamp/XMMS, vi/less, and Unix prompt-style commands for creating, editing, sorting, and navigating MP3 playlists. Using mpg123 as a backend, PLWarlock allows the user to easily browse playlists and play MP3s. It supports contiguous and random play, simple jump-to-song syntax, sorting by filename/path+filename, and all the other commands you've come to expect from a good MP3 player.
