The Freehand Formula Entry System is a research prototype for recognizing online handwritten mathematical notation, developed jointly by researchers in New Zealand, the United States and Canada. A user draws expressions with a mouse or data tablet, and LaTeX, a bitmap, and an operator tree are produced as output. Symbol recognition and expression interpretation are performed as the user draws.
The Units Conversion Library provides a facility for converting from a variety of scientific and engineering shorthand notations into floating point numbers. This allows application developers to easily convert value strings like "9.2 meters/second" and "20 miles/hour" into uniformly scaled floating point numbers. The library is implemented in both Tcl and C, and supporting other scripting languages should be straightforward.
AppsLink is a Web service and platform that lets developers create small, tight, focused Web applications which can interoperate with other Web applications. The demo apps and libraries are the source to several AppsLinked apps, and some code to help developers develop AppsLinked apps.
TKFaxSpool is a frontend for mgetty's "faxspool/faxq/faxrm" send FAX programs. It allows you to send facsimiles and manipulate the fax queue, maintain an Address Book of FAX recipients, and view PostScript attachments using GV. It has a special commandline argument for lpd-style FAX-printer spooling so any program with a print button can FAX the print output, and also allows you to view incoming FAX/Voice messages by quick launch button for TKVOICE.
