Xapian is a search engine library, scalable to collections containing hundreds of millions of documents. It's written in C++ with bindings for Perl, Python, PHP, Java, Tcl, C#, Ruby, and Lua. It is a highly adaptable toolkit that allows developers to easily add advanced indexing and search facilities to their own applications. It supports the Probabilistic Information Retrieval model and also a rich set of boolean query operators. Omega is a Web search application built upon the Xapian library. It can index a Web server's document tree (including HTML, PDF, OpenOffice, MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Works, WordPerfect, RTF, PS, etc.), or data exported from arbitrary sources (e.g. SQL databases).
Berkeley DB XML is a native XML database engine for use within your product. Made available as a C++ library with language bindings for Java, Perl, Python, PHP, and Tcl, it integrates directly into your application (it is not a standalone database server). It provides XQuery access into a database of document containers. XML documents are stored and indexed in their native format using Berkeley DB as the transactional database engine.

Ellogon is a multi-lingual, cross-platform, general-purpose language engineering environment, developed in order to aid both researchers who are doing research in computational linguistics, as well as companies who produce and deliver language engineering systems. Dragon Lair is a knowledge base system based on Topic Maps Technology. Data Elements are represented as topics and subjects and put into relationships with each other. Since these relations are data independent, Dragon Lair can be put on top of an existing database or be used as a graphical representation of a new data source. Dragon Lair "sits" directly upon the Dragon Breath framework for reliable and easy data manipulation, sanity check, and data exchange.
GetMeDone is a task manager in the spirit of Getting Things Done. It uses PostgreSQL as a backend and is written in Tcl/Tk. Currently only tested on Linux, it should be easy to extend to run on Mac OS and Windows. It features easy filtering of contexts, priorities, and time, advanced recurrent tasks, linking tasks to projects, deadlines, an ideas list, and the ability to defer tasks to future dates.
The BID software was designed to apply business rules to your email traffic. The goal of the BID tool is to automate the dispatching of this information and to join a business-case with a responsible receiver.
