RTSPdump is a tool for downloading a multimedia stream from a Windows Media server (WMServer). It accepts rtsp:// and mms:// URLs. It supports both UDP and TCP traffic. The stream can be saved into a WMV file for archiving or timeshifting purposes or passed through stdout to another program for processing or immediate viewing. It has also limited support for other brands of servers that also provide RTSP streaming.
Scenic is a free software suite for streaming audio, video, and MIDI between live events. It was created at the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) to give artists a powerful tool for telepresence in live arts contexts, and new media installations. The streaming is done over RTP with the GStreamer multimedia framework. Users can also choose low-bandwidth or high-quality codecs, depending on what is available on their system. It offers up to as many audio channels as your audio device supports. It consists of a desktop application and several command-line utilities: scenic (a Desktop application to stream audio, video, and MIDI over RTP); milhouse (streams audio and video over RTP); midistream (streams MIDI notes and controls over RTP); dc-ctl (controls connected DC IEEE 1394 cameras); firereset (resets an IEEE 1394 bus to help in case of problems); and jack-info (prints information about running JACK servers).
Web Lite TV is a simple application that allows you to stream videos from your iTunes library to your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. It works with DRM videos, has a one-click installation procedure, and presents a clean iPhone-like interface for navigating your TV shows, podcasts, and movies.
The Resilient Streaming Protocol (RSP) is a one-way IP/UDP media streaming protocol that was developed to provide high reliability audio streaming between the mountainchill.com Internet radio station's rural studios and SHOUTcast servers. Although the protocol operates in a unidirectional fashion (without listener ack/resend packets), it does support optional listener reporting and packet quality tracking. A streaming server called rspServer is included. It accepts multiple RSP stream sources, providing both RSP and SHOUTcast compatible relaying and transcoding. The source code package also includes a command-line encoder and decoders.
MSCP (Media Server Control Panel) is a management interface for Icecast2 with comprehensive functionality. An administrator can create users and then edit access rights, set the number of listener slots, enable or disable AutoDJ, etc. Users may change several parameters of the Icecast2 server and the AutoDJ via a Web-based interface. Audio compression formats supported by the AutoDJ are MP3, Ogg Vorbis, and FLAC. MSCP does not require an SQL server and runs on an independent Web server. It also sets Icecast2 to Shoutcast-compatible mode.
