HEALPix is a set of scientific tools implementing the Hierarchical Equal Area isoLatitude Pixelation of the sphere. As suggested in the name, this pixelation produces a subdivision of a spherical surface in which every single pixel covers the same surface area. HEALPix provides various programs and libraries in C, C++, Fortran, GDL/IDL, Java, and Python which facilitate discretization, simulation, processing, analysis, and visualization of data on the sphere up to very high resolution. It is the state-of-the-art program used in astronomy and cosmology to deal with massive full-sky data sets.
SDAPS is a collection of scripts that enables you to create questionnaires that can be scanned and automatically analyzed. The questionnaires can easily be created using OpenOffice.org or LaTeX, which gives a lot of flexibility. SDAPS creates a machine-readable questionnaire from the document. It also contains the required tools to analyze the data and create a final report with all the results that can be printed.
SOFA is a statistics, analysis, and reporting program with an emphasis on ease of use, learning as you go, and beautiful output. SOFA can connect directly to your database and lets you display results in an attractive format ready to share or put in a spreadsheet. SOFA will help you learn as you go, whether you are a student, business analyst, or researcher.
fswalker is an indexer and query tool for large filesystems. On large filesystems it is impossible to run tools such as du and obtain results in a reasonable time. fswalker crawls over a filesystem and populates a SQLite database containing information about each file. The fsq utility can then be used to query the database and obtain information much faster. It is intended that fswalk be run in a periodic manner so the sysadmin can monitor changes in the filesystem and produce reports.
scikits.statsmodels is a Python package which provides a complement to scipy for statistical computations, including descriptive statistics and estimation of statistical models. The main included model categories are linear, discrete, generalized linear, and robust linear models, and, in time series analysis, AR, ARMA, and VAR. It also includes statistical tests mainly for regression diagnostics.
