Gstring is yet another guitar tuning application. It requires a soundcard, a microphone, the FFTW package, and if you want a GUI, the Gtk+ toolkit and a new Gtk+ widget called GtkDatabox. A non- Gui version called "string" is included in version 1.0.0 and dynamically linked binaries (for i386 machines) are included as well.
gsyn is internally designed to be an extensible, modular synthesizer, but the interface and current codebase present a Roland TB-303 emulator which is programmed using fasttracker-style note entry. It also features delay reverb and distortion, so the sound is comparable to Propellerhead's ReBirth RB-338. gsyn has been compiled and tested under Linux 2., IRIX 6.2, Solaris 2.6, Windows 95, and Windows NT.

GtkSC is a GTK/Perl based application for viewing the list of streams available via SHOUTcast without waiting a long time for Netscape to draw the HTML tables. It will launch your favorite MP3 player and play the selected stream (provided you have an MP3 player capable of playing HTTP streams)

GuiTuner is a simple guitar tuner that uses fft to calculate the pitch of the sound recorded from the audio device. It uses a noise gate and a simple harmonic-recognition algorithm to reduce false readings. It features a user-friendly graphical interface and is heavily configurable. It also has an experimental tone generation window with presets.
HASAS (HydroAcoustic Signal Analysis System) is a modular system for passive sonar signal analysis. It can be used for biological research or surveillance, for example. The soundcard is used as input device, and it currently includes all the very basic functionality; beamformed audio, direction finding, level histogram, LOFAR/DEMON (narrowband spectrogram), wideband spectrogram, and raw audio.
