This is a port of a recently announced 2D sound spatialization library to Linux/X11 platform. The resulting binary acts as a sound "filter" between a 44.1khz mono source and outputs 44.1khz stereo spatialized sound. The UI uses low-level Xlib calls and does not require any GUI toolkit. Examples are provided to play MP3 files through this filter controlling the sound source position.
Aglaophone is a system of interconnectable modules for the recording, processing, and playback of real-time audio. It features a real-time spectrogram display for visualization along with a number of processing modules. Modules include filters, downsamplers, upsamplers, and quantizers. An MP3 comparison module allows interactive blind comparison of MP3 encoded audio with CD audio, demonstrations of spectral imaging, quantization, and Smith-Barnwell filter bank based wavelet decomposition are included, and there is a module that can perform an automatic spectral analysis of a speaker system.
aRts is a framework for developing modular multimedia applications. The sound server, artsd, allows multiple applications to cooperatively process and output sound and music. aRts is designed to provide its filter and synthesis capabilities to other applications using the multimedia communication protocol (MCOP). aRts is also capable of modular realtime synthesis. It can create sounds & music (realtime midi synthesis) using small modules like oscillators for creating waveforms, various filters, mixers, faders, etc.
The AudioCD Web Interface provides an easy interface for burning audio CDs. The interface allows you to simply upload wav files to a predefined directory (using Samba or FTP), configuring the track order and labels from the browser, and then simply proceed with the burn in your browser.
Audiogalaxy's Satellite is a distributed music search agent. It is a small application which does mp3 searching and file transfer and makes a designated directory on your computer searchable by other Satellite users. It features a real-time transaction-based system for file sharing. The Linux version has no user interface, but files are selected via the Web for transfer from other users.
