Telemeta is a global audio archiving program which introduces useful and secure indexing methods to back up digitized audio files and metadata dictionaries. It is dedicated to backing up any digitized and documented sound from collections of vinyls, magnetic tapes, or audio CDs over a strong database in accordance with many standards. Export functions also encapsulate edited metadata into a compressed file. The object style architecture provides easy developed user-friendly interfaces and a plugin style audio processing.
python-musicbrainz2 provides simple, object oriented access to the MusicBrainz Web service. The MusicBrainz Project (see http://musicbrainz.org) provides music metadata maintained by its large and constantly growing user community. This package helps you to write CD ripper applications, taggers, and media players by giving easy access to music metadata.
C-Cramp (the C-Cramp College Radio Audio Management Program) is a Web-based frontend to MySQL for managing the types of things that small radio stations might need: audio files, data, and "metadata"; DJ and staff information, schedules, live music and program logs, and all sorts of other data. Currently, a cross-platform PHP application is the focus of the project, but more features and types of programs are planned that will hopefully enable easier playback, storage, loading, and entering for all types of applicable data.
KFreeDB is an application for interacting with the FreeDB disc information database. It allows the user to query the database for a disc in a local drive, or submit new entries. It communicates with the FreeDB server via HTTP. It also features support for inexact/multiple matches, and resubmission of entries.
iTMS-4-ALL is a Perl CGI script that allows you to search Apple's iTunes Music Store from any Web browser. The script gives you access to album cover thumbnail images and a massive collection of 30 second preview audio clips. It is useful in its own right, but also serves as an example of how to query and interact with Apple's Music Store server.
mp3act is an AJAX-based Web interface to a user's collection of MP3s. It features Jukebox Mode (play on local stereo), Streaming Mode, a searchable database, easy installation, a simple user interface, reading of ID3 tag data, dynamic playlists, random streams, random play by artist, genre, or album, browsing of the collection by artist or genre, album art downloading through Amazon API, AudioScrobbler submission, and detailed play statistics.
