ZXTune is a set of portable cross-platform applications (GUI/CLI) intended to play chiptunes originally created for ZX Spectrum. It features advanced ripping possibilities that let you search for music in big data sets. Supported playback formats include AY, AS0/ASC, FTC, GTR, PSC, PSG, PSM, PT1, PT2, PT3, SQT, ST1, ST3, STC, STP, TXT, TurboSound, VTX, YM, CHI, DMM, DST, PDT, SQD, STR, TF0/TFE, TFC, TFD, and COP. Supported compressed formats include CHARPRES, CC3, CC4, CC4PLUS, DSQ, ESV, GAM, GAMPLUS, HRUM, HRUST1, HRUST2, LZH1, LZH2, LZS, MSP, PACK2, PCD61, PCD62, TLZ, TLZP, TRUSH. Supported archived/container formats include FDI, HOBETA, HRIP, LHA, RAW, SCL, TD0, TRD, ZXZIP, ZIP, RAR, SNA128, and Z80.
FFSampledSP is a free implementation of the javax.sound.sampled.spi interfaces. It is part of the SampledSP collection of javax.sound.sampled libraries. Its main purpose is to decode audio from various formats at high speed using FFmpeg. To do so, it uses the tagtraum FFmpeg package, which offers FFmpeg binaries configured to decode audio while avoiding CODECs with patent problems. In other words, it supports formats like Ogg and FLAC well, while leaving MPEG-4 and MP3 unsupported.
Slim HTML5 Audio jQuery Plugin is a very simple jQuery plugin to embed an audio player. It can insert HTML to play a given audio file using the HTML5 audio tag. It also inserts the embed container tab as fallback when the audio tag is not supported by the Web browser (e.g., IE7 and 8).

The Kowalski engine, which is the runtime component, relies only on host-specific external libraries to pass the final output buffers to the audio hardware. All other processing is done in the engine code. Features include positional audio (distance attenuation, cone attenuation, Doppler shift, binaural panning), real time Ogg Vorbis decoding, a powerful mix bus system, and tools to build, validate, and view Kowalski data.
Libsonic is a free C library for speeding up or slowing down speech. However, it's optimized for speed-ups of over 2X, unlike previous algorithms for changing speech rate. Sonic enables clear playback of audio books at 3X speed, and some blind listeners are able to listen at 6X. Libsonic has also been integrated into several text-to-speech engines. It works well on all platforms, even Android phones without FPUs. Pitch control is also supported.
n-Track Studio is an audio and MIDI multitrack recorder that turns your computer into a full-fledged recording studio. You can record and playback a virtually unlimited number of audio and MIDI tracks. The program supports simultaneous recording from multiple 16-bit and 24-bit soundcards, and real-time audio effects can be applied non-destructively to each track. Built-in effects include Reverb, Multiband Compression, Chorus, Delay, Pitch Shift, Graphic and Parametric EQ, and spectrum analyzer. The program can use third party VST plug-ins to process audio signals in real-time. Effects can also be used to process the recorded signal in real-time. MIDI tracks can be imported end exported to regular MIDI files, and edited using the built in piano-roll based MIDI editing window. The program supports VSTi instrument plug-ins for sample accurate software MIDI playback. Volume and pan evolution can be programmed by drawing on the timeline window.
