Alindis - A GNU/Linux Distribution is a comprehensive guide which leads the reader from zero to his/her own GNU/Linux distribution. In the course of the lecture, the reader will be able to reproduce the creation of the Alindis GNU/Linux distribution, the example implementation of the concepts shown there. The guide and the distribution together form the Alindis project.
Debarchiver is a simple version of the official Debian archive tool katie. It sorts packages in a way similar to the potato archives. You can use it for publishing test versions or alternative packages, or simply to sort the programs you have created. It can also generate the Packages and Source files needed by apt.
CD Shell is a scriptable menu system that provides the ability to create interactive multi-boot optical discs. It will make PC-bootable compact discs or DVDs that can select from several program loaders or kernels located on the disc, or boot from other local disk drives that are attached to the system.
Packlet is a simple installer tool for Java. A packlet is similar to a zip or tgz file: it packages an application into a single compressed file that can be distributed. Packlet files are class files that can be executed on any machine with Java 2 installed. Executing a packlet brings up an installer GUI to configure and unpack the application.
