Ardpicprog is an Arduino-based solution for programming PIC microcontrollers from Microchip Technology Inc, such as the PIC16F84, PIC16F628A, PIC12F675, etc. The solution consists of a circuit that is built on one or more shields, a sketch that runs on the Arduino to directly interface to the PIC, and a host program to control the HEX file reading and writing process.

Coretrace is a lightweight tool for debugging embedded Linux applications. It works by analyzing core files from crashed applications and outputs a short plain-text backtrace, suitable for putting into logfiles. The basic idea is to let the failing unit do self analysis of core files and report those back home during device maintenance lifetime. Non-interactive small-sized embedded systems are the primary targets, so small footprint is of major concern, since it will be stored on flash. Currently the compiled size is approximately 20 kb.
The SimulAVR program is a simulator for the Atmel AVR family of microcontrollers (ATtiny and ATmega). SimulAVR can be used either standalone or as a remote target for avr-gdb. There are interfaces for Python and Tcl. When used in gdbserver mode, the simulator is used as a back-end so that avr-gdb can be used as a source level debugger for AVR programs.
JCGO (pronounced as "j-c-go") translates (converts) programs written in Java into platform-independent C code that can be compiled (by third-party tools) into highly-optimized native code for the target platform. JCGO is a powerful solution that enables your desktop, server-side, embedded, mobile, and wireless Java applications to take full advantage of the underlying hardware. In addition, JCGO makes your programs, when compiled to native code, as hard to reverse engineer as if they were written in C/C++. The JCGO translator uses some optimization algorithms that allow, together with optimizations performed by a C compiler, the resulting executable code to reach better performance compared with the traditional Java implementations (based on the Just-In-Time technology). The produced executable does not contain nor require a Java Virtual Machine to execute, so its resource requirements are smaller than that required by a typical Java VM. This also simplifies the process of deployment and distribution of an application.
PolarSSL is a light-weight cryptographic and SSL/TLS library written in C. PolarSSL makes it easy for developers to include cryptographic and SSL/TLS capabilities in their (embedded) applications with as little hassle as possible. Loose coupling of the components inside the library means that it is easy to separate the parts that are needed, without needing to include the total library. PolarSSL is written with embedded systems in mind and has been ported on a number of architectures, including ARM, PowerPC, MIPS, and Motorola 68000. The source is written to have very loose coupling, enabling easy integration of parts in other software projects. Very loosely coupled cryptographic algorithms for MD2, MD4, MD5, SHA1, SHA-256, SHA-512, AES, Camellia, DES, Triple DES, ARC3, and RSA are included.
Data2l is a language neutral, platform neutral way for describing large sets of proprietary binary data. An example of this kind of data is car navigation data, which is about 1GB to 15GB in a typical embedded navigation. With Data2l you can easily describe almost any binary data format using primitive description blocks like basic type, array, structure, or alternative and using a functional dependency description language. Using such a description, one can generate source code optimized for certain tasks, like a lightweight data reading layer, fast querying code, or code suitable for data generation and transformation.
MyCCM-HI is a component framework developed by Thales targeting mission- and safety-critical distributed real time embedded software. It integrates components written in C, and generates code for handling inter-component communication, threads (priorities, periods), locks, and mode-based reconfiguration. In addition to the software components, MyCCM-HI takes as input a model of the application in a so-called Component-Oriented Architecture Language.
