dvd-slideshow makes a video slideshow with from a batch of pictures. The output can be in FLV, MP4, or DVD format. It consists of a set of scripts: dvd-slideshow reads a text file list of all the pictures you want in one slideshow and creates a movie with your audio tracks and specified timing. It supports effects such as fades, crops, and the Ken Burns effect. dvd-menu makes a top-level DVD menu with the output files from dvd-slideshow. dir2slideshow makes a dvd-slideshow input file from a directory of pictures. gallery2slideshow makes the input file from your Gallery album. The output is fed through dvdauthor to create DVDs.

Atmoslide is a Flash application for showing photos or images on a Website. Image selection is done with a list of photos that animate 3-dimensionally like CoverFlow from Apple. The main image is shown centrally above the selection list, and can have an extra added border, and an atmosperic surrounding effect which is based on the colors of the image. To implement this, you have to supply an XML file which lists all the images and all the settings.
Weighted Slideshow is a small shell script that creates a random playlist file from image files in the current directory. This list can then be used as input to an image viewer (such as "feh"). Although many image viewers can display a slideshow of randomly selected pics, Weighted Slideshow strongly favors files with newer modification times over older ones.
ffDiaporama is an application for assembling photos and videos. It is especially suitable for preserving memories of holidays. It was inspired by presentation software such as Impress or Powerpoint. It can read all image formats, most camera and camcorder video formats, and the most commonly used music formats. It includes 140 transitions and a device database to enable the videos to be correctly rendered for more than 50 models of video viewing devices (including smartphones, tablets, and home cinema systems). ffDiaporama can manage several hundred slides. Each slide can contain tens of shots and tens of blocks, with each shot containing its own block settings. The application itself calculates all the shot transformations.
