jmxsh is a fully scriptable command-line JMX client based on Tcl. It is simply a Tcl interpreter powered by Java/Tcl (with command-line history and editing provided by JLine) that has special command-line options for connecting to JMX servers and special Tcl commands for interacting with JMX servers. jmxsh is capable of simultaneously connecting to multiple JMX servers. There's also a "browse mode" for exploring the remote JMX namespace without knowing beforehand the names of MBeans or their properties. jmxsh and all its dependencies are distributed in a self-contained executable jar file for ease of use.
Netmon is a simple program designed to return interface counters in a simple format that can easily be used by MRTG. This program was written primarily so that shell scripts would not have to be called from MRTG configurations to get interface stats. Netmon can be configured to log directly to a database.

For those who may not know, PowerDNS is a domain name server application, much like BIND, but offering alternative backends for the storage of domain information.
Websitary is a script that monitors Web pages, RSS feeds, and podcasts and reports what's new. For many tasks, it reuses other programs (such as w3m, diff, and webdiff) to do the actual work. By default, it works on an ASCII basis, i.e. with the output of text-based Web browsers. With the help of some friends, it can also work with HTML.
MCS MyVoIP very accurately measures the quality and performance of Internet connections for Voice over IP (VoIP) usage by simulating UDP voice data traffic between a server and browser clients. Connections are tested for jitter and packet loss and rated for the supported level of sound quality. The VoIP test can be set to various codecs or customized by packet size, packet rate, and test length. The test can further be combined with a bandwidth speed test or network route diagnostics for more in-depth connection analysis.
