epto is a small library and framework for industrial strength shell script programming with sh. It features convenient error handling, tracing, logging, option handling, documentation template, process level transaction safety (sort of), and more. If one is used to shell programming, it takes less than five minutes of learning to start using it (see the crash course in the README file).
MSYS (Minimal SYStem) provides POSIX/Bourne configure scripts the ability to execute and create a Makefile used by make on Windows systems. This includes a pseudo-terminal, bash, make, sed, awk, etc. Together with a MinGW installation this environment is comparable to a Cygwin installation, except that it is really open source.
DIRT is a simple directory stack utility that lets the user use the same directory stack across terminals and sessions. The stack of directories is stored in a file (.dirtpile) in your home directory. All shell sessions access the same file, and thus, all of them use the same stack. DIRT supports jumping to specific entries, push, pop, swap the CWD with the top of the stack, and jump to the top of the stack. A set of CSH shell aliases are also included, and required for proper functioning.
HenPlus is a SQL shell written in Java that works for any database that has JDBC support. It provides commandline history, commandline completion, and can handle multiple connects to different databases at once. Database-independant table dumps, aliases, and variables are also supported.
Ch is an embeddable C/C++ interpreter for cross-platform scripting, shell programming, 2D/3D plotting, numerical computing, and embedded scripting. It is the simplest solution to numerical computing and visualization in the domain of C/C++. It supports the ISO 1990 C Standard (C90), major features in C99 (complex numbers, variable length arrays or VLAs, type generic functions, long long data type, etc), classes in C++, and extensions to the C language like nested functions, string types, etc. It can be embedded in other applications and hardware and used as a scripting language. C/C++ code is interpreted directly with no compilation to intermediate code. It supports Linux, Windows, MacOS X, Solaris, HP-UX, and FreeBSD.
