The Tecla library provides programs with interactive command line editing facilities, similar to those of the Unix tcsh shell. It supports recall and editing of previously entered command lines, TAB completion of file names and application specific tokens, and in-line wild-card expansion of filenames. The optionally reentrant modules which perform TAB completion and wild-card expansion are also available separately for general use. The library is smaller, more modular, makes more efficient use of the heap, and has a less restrictive license than GNU readline.
new_script is a program that creates shell script templates. It was developed to facilitate rapid creation of well-formed shell scripts containing the features expected in a production quality script, including traps for signal handling, command line option and argument processing, help messages invoked with the "-h" or "--help" options, and a framework for internal documentation.
Wapsh allows users to login to a Unix workstation using a WAP-capable mobile phone. Features include shortcuts (to save phone typing), input of control and other special characters, command history, and searching and scrolling through long shell output. Wapsh automatically adapts to the main WAP browsers (UP and Nokia), and uses configuration files to further tailor the system for specific phones. A corresponding HTML (Web) interface is also included.
imp3sh (interactive MP3 shell) is a flexible playlist manipulation shell and song player/streamer. It natively supports MP3 and Ogg Vorbis files/URLs with the Xaudio Asynchronous library for Linux, but can use external players to play any format. It has over 90 builtin commands, and many commonly-used shell features (such as job control, command history, tab completion, aliasing, and more).
CLEX is a file manager with a full-screen user interface written in C with the curses library. It displays directory contents (including file status details) and provides features like command history, filename insertion, or name completion in order to help the user to construct commands to be executed by the shell (there are no built-in commands). CLEX is easily configurable and all its features are explained in the on-line help.
