ansistego provides terminal-level steganography for scripts and other ASCII files (ie, protection against 'cat'). It intersperses a text/script with commented ANSI codes that cause most terminals to clear sensitive lines as soon as they are written. Only a specified front text appears. The front text is embedded in the script using ANSI-cloaked comments, so that the text appears unaltered when the script is viewed with cat, but the script can be run without any decoding stage.

It records what and how is being done, for private use/reuse and for sharing selected parts with collaborators. It is an intelligent shell that automatically logs user's shell sessions. Soicmp consists of a server and a client. It allows a user to connect to a remote shell daemon by using the ICMP protocol instead of TCP. Entirely written in Python, soicmp is a working proof-of-concept to demonstrate that data can be transmitted across a network by hiding it in traffic that normally does not contain payloads.
