BeeCrypt is an ongoing project to provide strong and fast cryptography in the form of a toolkit usable by commercial and open source projects. Included in the library are entropy sources, random generators, block ciphers, hash functions, message authentication codes, multiprecision integer routines, and public key primitives.
A BestCrypt volume is accessible as a regular filesystem on a correspondent mount point. The data stored on a BestCrypt volume is stored in the container file. A container is a regular file or block device, so it is possible to backup, move, or copy it to other disk (CD-ROM or network, for instance) and continue to access encrypted data using BestCrypt. BestCrypt supports the following encryption algorithms: GOST in Cipher Feedback mode and BLOWFISH, DES, TWOFISH in Cipher Block Chaining mode. A container can be formatted for any filesystem supported by Linux (MINIX, EXT, EXT2, FAT, FAT32, and others) and mounted as an additional volume to any mount point.
Better ASN is a Java ASN.1 API that focuses on speed and efficiency rather than extended functionality. This strategy prescribes one-pass decoding and near 100% encoding efficiency for typical ASN.1 usage patterns. Although BASN was developed for use by a Certificate Authority, the release comes packaged with an ASN.1 to Java compiler, which can be used to generate Java implementations of ASN.1 structures. This allows the API to be used for any Java application that may require ASN.1 decoding/manipulation/encoding.
The Better String Library is an abstraction of a string data type which is superior to the C library char buffer string type and C++'s std::string. Among the features achieved are substantial mitigation of buffer overflow/overrun problems and other failures that result from erroneous usage of the common C string library functions, significantly simplified string manipulation, high performance interoperability with other libraries that expect '\0' terminated buffers, high performance common string operations, and functional equivalency with other more modern languages.
