XaoS is a fast, portable, real-time, and interactive fractal zoomer. It displays the Mandelbrot set (among other escape time fractals) and allows you zoom smoothly into the fractal. Various coloring modes are provided for both the points inside and outside the selected set. In addition, switching between Julia and Mandelbrot fractal types and on-the-fly plane switching is provided.
SLD Calculator is a GUI to calculate the characteristics of chemical compounds, especially the Neutron and X-Ray scattering length densities that are often required to know in scattering experiments. Furthermore, it offers internationalization support and is capable of switching the language at runtime.
Fairmat is a derivative and capital investments modelling tool. It permits you to build a pricing model for many financial projects (or derivative contracts) using a graphical representation blended with a high level algebraic language. It is also possible to use it to evaluate projects and perform real options valuations. The platform can be extended using a plug-in system.
ACCORD is a C library for composition of SEM or scanning helium-ion microscope images with correction of drift. It is able to compose (average) large sets of extremely noisy images that were acquired by scanning charged-particle microscopes at the highest possible speeds (lowest pixel-dwell times). If the images are composed using traditional techniques, they usually become extensively blurry. The technique that is implemented in this software corrects these derogations by pre-shifting the composed frames.
DEDiscover is a workflow-based differential equation modeling software tool for scientists, statisticians, and modelers. Whether you need to do quick simulation, develop sophisticated models, or teach mathematical concepts, DEDiscover combines a powerful computation engine with a user-friendly interface to give you a tool that's better, faster, and easier-to-use.
Theano is a Python library that allows you to define, optimize, and evaluate mathematical expressions involving multi-dimensional arrays efficiently. Theano features tight integration with numpy, transparent use of a GPU, efficient symbolic differentiation, speed and stability optimizations, dynamic C code generation, and extensive unit-testing and self-verification. Theano has been powering large-scale computationally intensive scientific investigations since 2007. But it is also approachable enough to be used in the classroom (IFT6266 at the University of Montreal).
ChiantiPy is a Python interface to the CHIANTI atomic database for astrophysical spectroscopy. The CHIANTI atomic database for astrophysical spectroscopy provides the information necessary to calculate the emission spectrum from hot plasmas. ChiantiPy provides several top-level classes to access the database and calculate continuum and emission line intensities.
