Rbmhshow seeks to provide an efficient and lightweight MIME- capable command-line MH mail environment, leveraging existing applications wherever possible. It is a flexible alternative to the standard MH mhl and mhshow applications. MIME messages are displayed in a single continuous less session, with non-plaintext components (e.g. HTML, Word, JPEG) converted to text by the appropriate utility. PGP and S/ MIME signatures are automatically validated, headers and separators are coloured, and the less prompt displays information about the current mail. Command keys are then provided within less to perform common operations, such as replying to, refiling or deleting mail, moving to the next message, etc.
hanjadic is a program that displays Chinese-based Korean characters ("hanja"), their Korean pronunciations, Korean and English definitions, their radicals, and related Korean vocabulary derived from the Chinese. There are four ways to search in hanjadic: English, character sound, character compounds (words composed of multiple characters), and by character. Despite its name, it probably isn't that good as a dictionary and is better suited as a Korean etymology and vocabulary-building tool, though it is also designed to show the beauty of traditional Chinese characters.
GARP (Gnome ARP) is an ARP monitoring program written on Gnome with the GTK toolkit and Ruby. It takes ARP tables and some system variables via SNMP and ARP protocols and determines whether any machines have changed their IP address. It is useful for detecting new machines on the network and detecting which machine have changed addresses. It is intended especially for network admins.
ProcPile is a pure Ruby distributed computing cluster environment. Its goal is to allow fast prototyping on smaller datasets, especially those where serialization and deserialization are minor expenses relative to the core processing task. Once the algorithms are settled, you should be able to scale out to full production usage. At that point, you can replace the core processes with Ruby modules written in C (or Inline::C), or move the design to a more "grown-up" clustering environment.
