Binary Puzzle Solver in Ruby is an automated solver for Binary Puzzles (a kind of logic game) featured on http://www.binarypuzzle.com/. The solver contains an API and a commandline program and explains why it thinks the player should place a 0 or a 1 in the box. Although it contains only a subset of the moves the authors could think of and does not use backtracking, it was able to solve all the puzzles from binarypuzzle.com which the authors tried.
Sanzang is a compact and simple cross-platform machine translation system. It is especially useful for translating from the CJK languages (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean), and it is very suitable for working with ancient and otherwise difficult texts. Unlike most other machine translation systems, Sanzang is small and approachable. Any user can develop his or her own translation rules, and these rules are simply stored in a text file and applied at runtime.

The Voodoo compiler is an implementation of the Voodoo programming language. The Voodoo programming language is a low-level programming language, abstracting over the platform's instruction set and calling conventions, but otherwise leaving the programmer free to do anything at all. The Voodoo compiler supports multiple target platforms and provides a stand-alone compiler, as well as a Ruby module for programmatic code generation.
BinBackup is a tool intended to efficiently back up a directory to a set of size-limited media like CD-Rs or DVD-Rs. It's goal is to distribute the contents of a directory to a set of media while using the space available on these media as best as possible, minimizing the number of media required for a backup. To do this, BinBackup uses a bin packing algorithm to decide how to partition the contents of a directory and where to put them.
rsync-mirror is used to backup local directories to another location on the local machine or to a remote machine. As the name suggests, it uses rsync for data transfer so it should be pretty efficient. It does not support any nifty backup features like incremental backups; all it does is mirror a directory to another location. To ease the task of creating backups, rsync-mirror takes care of managing the destination site of the backup. In case the target path needs to be mounted, rsync-mirror does so before backup and unmounts it afterwards.
phpdocr will download, prettify, and output PHP documentation for the function or class that is supplied on the command-line, much like perldoc does for Perl and ri does for Ruby. Unless you explicitly tell it not to, phpdocr will also cache the documentation locally for fast retrieval in the future.
