QuantLib is a cross-platform, quantitative finance C++ library for modeling, pricing, trading, and risk management in real-life. It is also wrapped as Python/Ruby/Scheme modules. Extensions for Excel, R, and Mathematica are available. Other such extensions are under consideration. QuantLib offers tools that are useful both for practical implementation and for advanced modeling. It features market conventions, yield curve models, solvers, PDEs, Monte Carlo (low-discrepancy included), exotic options, VAR, and so on.
Ruby/Google offers a higher-level abstraction of Google's SOAP-driven Web API. It allows the user to programatically query the Google search engine from Ruby. The aim of the library is to shield the programmer from the details of the raw data structures returned by the Web API, and in the process make the API more accessible for everyday use.
Ruby/DICT is an RFC 2229-compliant client-side library implementation of the DICT protocol, written in the Ruby programming language. It can be used to write clients that access dictionary definitions from a set of natural language dictionary databases. rdict, a powerful CLI dictionary client built on Ruby/DICT, is included.
CorporateTime is a proprietary calendar server system originally produced by Steltor and, more recently, Oracle. Ruby/CorporateTime is a Ruby language extension that serves as an interface to the CorporateTime Calendar API (CAPI). Its purpose is to allow interaction with CorporateTime servers via the Ruby programming language. Versions 2.x and 9.x of the CAPI are supported.
FormValidator is a Ruby port of Perl's Data::FormValidator library. It makes it easy to validate data coming in from HTML forms by providing a robust set of methods to handle required fields, dependent fields, filtering, constraints, tainting, and defaults. Its modular design allows you to easily add your own filters and constraints and also lets you to keep validation data outside of your CGI scripts.
jUDO (java Universal Data Objects) speeds up development/maintainence and removes database-vendor dependency for applications using databases. You should use jUDO whenever you don't want to use EJBs. You don't write any database code; you only have to specify the container classes and the interfaces for the models, and then jUDO creates the implementation for you runtime (no source is generated). It derives all info needed from your interfaces method names that follows name-pattern rules. In case you need some special access method, you either add a plugin for this or simply go directly against the database. jUDO is not as configurable and advanced as other much more professional software like Castor, Hibernate, etc., but since jUDO derives the database from your code, there is never a mismatch between code and database.
Ruby PHP Serializer is a Ruby module providing workalikes of PHP's serialize() and unserialize() functions, enabling it to manipulate serialized PHP data structures. It supports Array, Hash, String, Fixnum, Float, NilClass, TrueClass, FalseClass, and Struct, and has some support for arbitary object handling.
