Netscape Address Book Recovery is a tool get your information out of a corrupted Netscape address book. This program attempts to get as much information out of the address book as is possible. But as with all programs of this type, it will always need to change to keep track of the different ways in which the address book can be corrupted. It can output .csv (Comma Separated Values) or .ldi (LDAP Date Interchange Format) files. If you output to .csv files you will lose all mailing list information.
recoverdm is a program that helps to recover disks with bad sectors. Files can be recovered as well as complete devices. If a sector (on a CD/DVD) cannot be read, even after several retries, it also tries to read the sector in RAW-mode. Multiple images of multiple recovery attempts can be merged into one correct image.
Corruption Corrector (CCorr) is a program designed for fixing corrupt files. It is for situations when you have (downloaded) many copies of the same file, but all of the copies are a bit corrupt. If the corruptions are in different parts of the file, it is possible to combine the good bytes from each file and get an uncorrupted copy of the file.
rpm livelinuxcd is a set of ISO images and a toolkit. The first CD image is a basic live CD with X/KDE, GNOME, twm, VPN/DSL, kickstart, and other tools based on RPM packages. The second CD image includes a server with ssh, Apache, PHP, MySQL, Samba, Squid, and more, but without X11. The toolkit consists of shell scripts to create new CDs from RPM package lists or comps files.
PLD RescueCD is a bootable disk that contains a live Linux distribution based on PLD Linux x86 and x86-64. It uses transparent xz compression to fit about 180 MB of software onto a single mini CD in a usable form. It can be used to rescue ailing machines, perform intrusion post-mortems, or act as a temporary secure Linux-based workstation. It is possible to boot via PXE and from USB devices.
The Linbox Rescue Server (LRS) is a tool to centralize hard disk images (like Ghost Enterprise Server), file backups, hardware and software inventory (with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X agents), secure software deployment using OpenSSH, and remote access on a single server. It can be managed from any PC through a Web-based administration interface, and disk images can be restored using PXE boot or using a bootable CD or DVD. It supports Ext2/3, ReiserFS, XFS, JFS, and LVM v1/v2.
