MapMemo allows you to drag your files onto any graphic (map, photo, scan, illustration, screenshot, etc.), and thus give them a visual, location-based relation. It uses only aliases of your files which, when you click on an appropriate location, will open in their original application. You can use layers, info windows, colors, and comment fields to organize your files on the map.
ArahPaint4 is a textile-oriented paint program, mainly for jacquard. It is a simple paint program for raster palette images. It has good tools for drawing images in repetition, support for handling palette images (color reduction, substitution, protected, transparent colors), contour tools, layer support, unlimited undo/redo, support for drawing in aspect ratio (pixels need not be square), a two level grid, and a coordinates display. It is simple, stable, fast, and works well on large images (>8000x8000).
Yoltia is a computer program for editing image files. It provides the functionality to do simple changes to a large number of pictures quickly and very comfortably and exactly. It can rotate pictures with 0.5 degree accuracy, manipulate the RGB and HSV values, and perform inverting, mirroring, resizing, cutting, stretching, and color depth conversion with different dithers. It provides many user orientated zoom modes, a multi-document interface, a simple automation/macro feature, and much more.
Picasa is Google's photo organizer. It makes it easy to find, edit, and share digital photos. It automatically locates and remembers all pictures and sorts them into visual albums organized by date with recognizable folder names. You can drag and drop to arrange albums and make labels to create new groups. This Linux version mostly has the same features as the Windows version, and is based on a modified version of Wine.
SVGSlice is a simple tool which generates chopped up images from Inkscape SVG drawings. To figure out where to cut, SVGSlice can use Inkscape's built in guides (for simpler, grid-like cuts), or it can use a specially named "slices" layer that contains rectangles that mark areas to slice. Demo files showing both approaches are included.
symTone is a dual cursor image manipulation program that allows users to easily and intuitively edit their digital photos using two mice and two cursors. symTone requires that the user plug in two extra three-button USB mice (in addition to their laptop touchpad or their desktop mouse). Mice with a scroll wheel as the middle mouse button will work fine. Only the PNG file format is currently supported.
