Grafx2 is a bitmap paint program that allows you to draw in more than 60 video resolutions (from 320x200 to 1024x768, including most of the standard Amiga resolutions: 320x256, 320x512, 640x256, 640x512, and more, provided your video card knows how to handle them). Its layout is not very different from the famous Deluxe Paint or Brilliance, so it will be quite easy to handle it if you know at least one of these programs.
Flowpaint is a next generation paint program that focuses on usability and power. It's cross platform and supports pressure sensitive graphics tablets. Planned features for future versions include user-editable procedural brushes, brushes created from pictures, layers with arbitrary data channels, infinite and wrapping canvas layouts, parametrized picture templates, and built-in support for downloading and sharing new brushes and templates.
Geomajas is an extensible spatial application framework, enabling integrated GIS solutions for businesses and government. It has an integrated client-server architecture, with a high focus on server-side integration of your data (be it through GeoTools or Hibernate). Seg3D is a volume editing and processing tool that combines a flexible manual segmentation interface with powerful higher-dimensional image processing and segmentation algorithms from the Insight Toolkit. DICOM, VFF, META, NRRD, and many other volume formats are supported. Users can explore and label image volumes using configurable, orthogonal slice view windows and 3D volume rendering.
Gimp User Filter is a work-alike to Adobe's Filter Factory. It is a generic image processing plug-in that can be used to create new filters for The GIMP without having to go through the process of learning about The GIMP's SDK. Many freely available filters that have been created for Filter Factory can also be used with this plug-in.
Image matting tool cuts out objects in photos using an alpha-matting technique. While clear cuts can be found for all objects that are clearly separated from their environment, objects with fuzzy borders and semi-transparent areas don't have a clear outline. The tool creates an alpha channel that defines the degree to which the background shines through the foreground for every pixel. The background color can then be subtracted. The user defines a rough boundary of an object with a large brush and a high-quality segmentation is generated. Problematic areas can be edited manually.
