Jameleon is an automated testing framework that can be used by technical and non-technical users alike. One of the main concepts behind it is to create a group of keywords or tags that represent different screens of an application. All of the logic required to automate each particular screen can be defined in Java and mapped to these keywords. The keywords can then be organized with different data sets to form test scripts without requiring an in-depth knowledge of how the application works. The test scripts are then used for both testing automation and test case document generation.
Load is a utility for Web application and SOAP-based Web services performance and scalability testing. It features a scripting language and a library of test objects for the creation of intelligent agents that drive the Web application or SOAP-based Web service. Running hundreds of agents concurrently shows how your software performs in production environments. Load is a Java application that runs on Linux, Solaris, NT, Win2000, and Macintosh. While Load continues to be maintained, the next generation is the TestMaker program.
pyNMS is a set of Python modules for network management, network testing, systems management, and general use. It contains a nearly complete implementation of SNMPv2c, a SMI/MIB package, and a MIB "compiler". There are many others, such as a telnet/console access class, XML tools, an IPv4 class, etc. There is, unfortunately, little documentation, and not everything works properly yet, but they work well enough to be useful for many things.
Sparse is a semantic parser of source files. It's neither a compiler (although it could be used as a front-end for one) nor a preprocessor (although it contains a preprocessing phase). It is meant to be a small, simple, easy to use library. Its function is to create a semantic parse tree for some arbitrary user for further analysis. It's not a tokenizer, nor is it a generic context-free parser. Context (semantics) is what it's all about: figuring out not just what the grouping of tokens are, but what the types are that the grouping implies.
GreenMail is a suite of email servers for testing purposes and sandbox development. It supports SMTP, POP3, and IMAP (including SSL) and can be embedded into any Java application or unit test. The GreenMail Service (SAR) extension runs as a JBoss embedded developer mail server sandbox, manageable via JMX.
The DPML SDK is a management platform for Java-based component development, resource management, and deployment. It is composed of the Transit resource management layer, the Depot multi-project build system, the Metro component management runtime engine, and the Station application management console.
Hackystat is a framework for the automated collection and analysis of software engineering product and process data. Hackystat uses sensors to unobtrusively collect data from development environment tools; there is no chronic overhead on developers to collect product and process data. Hackystat does not tie you to a particular tool, environment, process, or application. Hackystat is intended to provide in-process project management support.
p-unit is a framework for unit testing and performance benchmarking. As a unit test, it can run with a single thread or multiple threads against the same test code. p-unit has an executor pool which can accelerate the execution speed dramatically. As a perforamnce test framework, it records memory consumption and execution time, and generates results in the form of plain text, image, and PDF file. Users can also easily register their own reporters by implementing the p-unit event listener.
JDBCPersistence is an Object Relational Mapping framework. Designed for use in high volume online banking applications, the package delivers performance matching that exhibited by hand-written JDBC code. It uses a bytecode generation technique to create bytecode for classes that implement logic used for persisting the data. As the framework uses SQL for querying data, the learning curve is reduced. The footprint of the package is under 200KB.
