etrace makes use of the -finstrument-functions feature from gcc to log all function calls and display them as a call tree during run-time. The call tree can also be logged to a file. This lets you follow a program's execution path path without using a debugger. etrace consists of 80 lines of Python and 100 lines of C code.
Pysite is a tool written in Python to generate Web sites based on the contents of files in a given directory tree. It crawls through a specified directory tree looking for files matching certain configurable patterns (like intro, title-fr, and this-is-another-page-body), building up an output Web page for each set of files found. It features valid XHTML output, support for multiple language output, simple hierarchical templates (just put a template in a directory and it will be used for all subdirectories), and basic plaintext to XHTML conversion.
cdname.py names MP3 files and generates M3U playlists from CDDB/freedb INF files. (These are often retrieved with cdda2wav -L). MP3s and playlists can be named using any combination of artist name, track title, album name, track number, etc. Many aspects are configurable via command line options. It should complement most ripping/encoding pipelines well.
Pybatis lets you use a templating engine to generate SQL in the same way we use templating engines to generate HTML. But while HTML is generated to send to a browser, Pybatis generates SQL to send to the database via Python's DB API, and then gathers the results. Pybatis consists of three things combined: Python's DB API, templates, and convenience methods. The core idea of treating dynamic SQL as a templating problem rather than a code generation problem (as in most ORM libraries) comes from iBATIS, after which Pybatis is named with great respect.
