Eggy is an IDE that includes syntax highlighting, template features, options for compiling and running your code, auto completion, and more. Eggy's distinguishing feature is its support for group projects, which allows users from around the world to connect to each other and work together on a project and see live changes being made. Users can communicate through the chat mechanism, add, remove, and rename files to and from the project, sync files, and exploit other useful features. Eggy supports many languages, including C++, Python, Perl, Ruby, shell scripting, and others.
checkroot is an openSUSE equivalent of debsums. It enables retrieval of fingerprint updates online, allowing trusted verification of a root filesystem. This prevents a cracker from hiding his traces from "rpm --verify -a". If the verification fails, checkroot can download the package header containing the md5sums online. Alternatively, all md5sums can be fetched online (if you mistrust some of the fingerprints/private keys the locally stored md5sums are signed with).
Polypy is a small program to analyze rings in structures read from xyz files. This can be used, for example, to identify defects in crystal structures. The program was initially developed to analyze graphitic carbon structures, but can be used for any other structure. It includes: ring search using Franzblau statistics [Phys. Rev. B 44, 4925]; output structures marked by ring size, which can used for visualization in a program such as VMD; and extensive output with which atoms are in which ring and the neighbors of each atom.
Rescatux is a GNU/Linux rescue CD that comes with Rescapp, a nice wizard that will guide you through your rescue tasks. It can restore Grub to the MBR update a Grub configuration, perform filesystem checks, fix a Windows MBR, and more. Features that can indirectly assist the rescue process include chat programs to let you reach human online help, a share log (automatic pastebin), and a share log that uses formatting appropriate for posting on a forum.
Organic Photovoltaic Device Model is a 1D Schottky-Read-Hall based drift diffusion model specifically designed to model organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices. It can describe non-geminate recombination via two mechanisms: free-to-trap processes via an exponential tail of trap states, and free-to-free carrier processes. The model solves the drift diffusion equations for electrons and holes, Poisson's equation to calculate the potential distribution in position space, and the Schottky-Read-Hall capture escape equations for a discretized set of energy levels. The model has been used to generate a number of publications. It can simulate the following experiments often used to characterize OPV devices: JV curves (Light/Dark), Charge extraction data (Light/Dark), and Steady state recombination data (Light/Dark).
Forban is a P2P file sharing application for link-local and local area networks. Forban works independently from the Internet and uses only the local area capabilities to announce, discover, search, or share files. Forban relies on HTTP and is opportunistic, meaning that it replicates any files of interest seen in its proximity. The Forban protocols are minimalistic to ease the production of other implementations.
