The EESST package implements a common format for Email Exchange of Secondary School Transcripts. MIME and OpenPGP email standards are applied to enable secure communication of academic transcripts directly from each student to his or her chosen recipients without intervention or monitoring by any third-parties. Because transcripts are digitally signed by the originating school official, transcript recipients can independently verify that transcripts received directly from students have not been altered in transit.
Organic Photovoltaic Device Model is a 1D Schottky-Read-Hall based drift diffusion model specifically designed to model organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices. It can describe non-geminate recombination via two mechanisms: free-to-trap processes via an exponential tail of trap states, and free-to-free carrier processes. The model solves the drift diffusion equations for electrons and holes, Poisson's equation to calculate the potential distribution in position space, and the Schottky-Read-Hall capture escape equations for a discretized set of energy levels. The model has been used to generate a number of publications. It can simulate the following experiments often used to characterize OPV devices: JV curves (Light/Dark), Charge extraction data (Light/Dark), and Steady state recombination data (Light/Dark).
OpenClass is a simple solution for class control. It provides multicast screen projection (sending the teacher's screen to all of the students), student attention requests (blocking student activities and asking them to look at teacher), viewing of all student screens at once, direct messaging to students, file and URL sharing, computer shutdown, access control for specific classes, and support for multi-seat configurations and multiple clients per machine. For students it provides automatic teacher discovery via broadcast, "raise hand" functionality, and automatic handling of network saturation and disconnection events.
Theano is a Python library that allows you to define, optimize, and evaluate mathematical expressions involving multi-dimensional arrays efficiently. Theano features tight integration with numpy, transparent use of a GPU, efficient symbolic differentiation, speed and stability optimizations, dynamic C code generation, and extensive unit-testing and self-verification. Theano has been powering large-scale computationally intensive scientific investigations since 2007. But it is also approachable enough to be used in the classroom (IFT6266 at the University of Montreal).
Golem Python Framework is a Python game framework for developing and learning. It can assist a student of programming by providing opportunities to write programs with interestingly visible effects, despite their simplicity. Golem provides a Web-based interface that can be used even by very early students to learn the basics of thinking with computer code by teaching a visible character on the screen to perform various tasks. Golem is based on Python, and allows a student to use all of Python's features. It attempts to hide the intimidating face that computer programming can present. Learners who are too advanced for the Web interface can use Golem as a powerful Python development framework that is effective for developing cross-platform 2D games.
