upoints is a collection of Python modules for working with points on Earth or other nearly spherical objects. It allows you to calculate the distance and bearings between points, mangle xearth/xplanet data files, and work with online UK trigpoint databases, NOAA's weather station database, and other such location databases.
shape2ge is a set of two applications for converting ESRI shapefiles into Google Earth KML files. It consists of a batchable converter engine that reads conversion options from an XML config file generated by the front-end or other methods. The CLI-based front-end allows you set scales and offsets (from shapefile coords to earth coords), and also to assign different display styles to different feature types.
noaadata-py is a library for handling marine Automatic Identification System (AIS) messages and NOAA marine data messages from http://opendap.co-ops.nos.noaa.gov/axis/. It has extensions to handle the USCG N-AIS receive fields. For AIS ship traffic, noaadata provides bridges to Sqlite3 and PostgreSQL/Postgis databases. It is able to generate Google Earth KML files for AIS. It is part of the UNH/NOAA Chart of the Future project.
Micropolis is a city simulation game engine based on the original classic SimCity source code. Micropolis is based on the Tcl/Tk version of SimCity. It consists of the micropolis module, which is the engine recast as a C++ class; the cellengine module, which is a cellular automata machine engine; and the tileengine module, which is a Cairo based tile renderer. It is intended to be used with the OLPC's Sugar user interface environment, but layered so the core code is useful in other contexts.
PyTrackProfiler allows you to create high quality PDF route sheets, which useful for planning various kinds of routes (hiking, biking, etc.). It also computes useful information using the track data (time, altitude, etc.) so you can analyze an unknown track. An elevation profile and a projection representation are created. It includes high quality classes for drawing line graphics (XY axis, multi-Y axis, autolabels, autoscale, etc.), parsers for OziExplorer and CompeGPS file formats, support for UTM to latitude/longitude conversion, distance calculation, and angle calculation, support for the Polar HRM hear rate monitor file format, a PDF generator, and more.

Technology developed using the Madagascar project management system is transferred in the form of recorded processing histories, which become "computational recipes" to be verified, exchanged, and modified by users of the system.
The Python Cartography Library, or PCL, is a package of modules for rendering GIS data from a variety of backends into maps. Its mission is to be the best possible Python interface to open source GIS software such as PROJ.4, GEOS, GDAL, OGR, and MapServer, and to be easy to use with Python Web application frameworks, as well as with matplotlib.
