Mrs is a lightweight but high performance implementation of the MapReduce programming model for parallel computation. It is optimized for computationally intensive programs, especially those which are iterative, though it is applicable to a wide range of applications. It is intended to be simple to install and use. It is written in Python, supports both Python 2 and Python 3, and has no dependencies outside the standard library. The name "Mrs" derives from the practice of referring to MapReduce programs by the title "mister" (e.g., "Mr. Wordcount").
Myghty is a Python-based Web application framework originally ported from HTML::Mason. It supports the full feature set of Mason, allowing component-based Web development with Python-embedded HTML. It also features additional paradigms such as module components, environment-neutral session support, and many more language features. The HTTP connector API includes mod_python, CGI, WSGI, and standalone implementations. It also supports command line and custom non-HTTP environments.
Nouvelle is a very simple Web rendering framework, similar to the 'nevow' package in Quotient but with a few key differences. XHTML documents are constructed using a convenient pure-Python syntax. Nouvelle itself doesn't require a particular web server or environment, but it can interoperate with Twisted or BaseHTTPServer easily.
Opticks Extras is a set of official extensions for the Opticks application. The Spectral Processing extension adds multi-spectral and hyper-spectral processing capability to Opticks. The IDL Scripting extension integrates an IDL interpreter directly into the Opticks application. The Python Scripting Extension integrates a Python interpreter directly into the Opticks application.
PDO (Python Database Objects), is a collection of objects for use with Phase or with the Python programing language. PDO is designed to be robust and simple at the same time, allowing access to multiple styles of databases with one set of instructions. This means never having to worry again about your syntax when changing database platforms on your next project. PDO provides an object oriented API similar in intent to ADO and JDBC.
